15 HKUST Annual Report 2021-2022 skills and artistic insights to apply computing and media technologies across a variety of digital media, including animations, special effects, internet applications, and wireless and mobile media. Given increasing demand for graduates who can utilize the latest information and communication technologies to improve urban lifestyles and sustainability, a Minor Program in Smart City was approved for launch in Fall 2022. The Minor will deliver the fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience to nurture professionals in the field. 2021-22 also brought several new postgraduate programs to deepen the pool of innovation and financial talents. They included the MPhil/PhD in Integrative Systems and Design, uniquely devised to emphasize a confluence of form and function for user-oriented products and services; Master of Public Management to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on policy, management, and governance issues to prepare mid-career staff for senior roles in the public sector; Doctor of Business Administration for leaders, senior executives and entrepreneurs to enhance their research capabilities and assist insights for business and societal impact; and Digital MBA for Global Leaders Program, which offers an online learning mode for professionals who need more schedule and geographical flexibility, and brought the launch of Asia’s first virtual classroom. SPEARHEADING CROSS-CAMPUS LEARNING When HKUST(GZ) opens in September 2022, more than 500 postgraduate students will begin their studies at the new campus. Abundant cross-campus opportunities will also be available to foster collaboration among students from both campuses.
