Local to Global 34 With HKUST(GZ) set to open in Nansha in September 2022, the University prepared for the start of an exciting new era of development, while also deepening alliances and partnerships around the world MAINLAND FOOTPRINT The HKUST 2.0 Journey Begins The Ministry of Education’s final approval for the establishment of HKUST(GZ) in June 2022 provided the linchpin of the implementation of the University’s HKUST 2.0 vision for growth. When HKUST(GZ) opens in Nansha, Guangzhou, on September 1, 2022, it will join the Clear Water Bay campus in delivering next-generation research, teaching and learning that build on the two campuses’ synergistic academic structures and shared resources under the “Unified HKUST, Complementary Campuses” framework. Through HKUST 2.0, the two campuses will nurture forward-looking creative talents and pioneer a new way ahead in higher education, embracing both disciplinary- oriented and cross-disciplinary education and research endeavors in emerging and frontier fields.
