4 In Academic Year 2021-22 we not only celebrated our milestone 30th anniversary, but also attained formal approval for the establishment of HKUST(Guangzhou) (GZ) from the Ministry of Education (MoE), thus embarking on our transformative HKUST 2.0 journey. Despite the various challenges facing us, especially the unprecedented pandemic that has now lasted for almost three years, I couldn’t be prouder of the HKUST family for their will, dedication and commitment as demonstrated by the multiple milestones we have reached in the midst of such extraordinarily adverse conditions.
