HKUST annual report 2022-2023 LEARNING for Life  Keeping our students ahead of emerging trends, the first BSc in Sustainable and Green Finance in Hong Kong was launched in Fall 2022. This trailblazing program equips students with a cross-disciplinary understanding of climate, environmental, social and governance (ESG), finance, risk management, and other vital areas. Concurrently, we introduced an Extended Major in Digital Media and Creative Arts, which merges technical and artistic domains of media production, equipping students with skills in up-to-date creative technologies like animation, mobile media, and interactive installations. Additionally, the inception of a Minor in Smart City will augment students’ major studies by offering forward-looking insights into urban planning and construction automation. At the postgraduate level, the following programs were approved during the year, with the first students admitted in 2023-24: MSc in Biomolecular Engineering and Health Informatics Integrates biomolecular engineering and data analytics, providing students with the skills and knowledge in both fields to address contemporary healthcare needs and bioengineering challenges. MSc in Marketing Furnishes students with the prevailing marketing knowledge, analytical tools, and decision frameworks to become responsible, leading marketing professionals. Dual Master Degree Program in Global Marine Resources Management with the University of Southampton One-year program, offered in partnership with the UK university and providing cross-disciplinary knowledge and multinational experience to tackle complex marine sustainability issues. Students will study at both universities in person, earning dual qualifications. ASTRI WORK-STUDY Programme (PhD) This work-study program offered with Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute fosters the growth of advanced I&T research talent in areas such as AI, big data, and wireless communications.
