HKUST annual report 2022-2023 CHAIRMAN'S Foreword I hope that my technology, research and industry experience in Hong Kong, the Mainland and the United States will add a fresh dimension to the collective wisdom of the Council in steering HKUST’s mission to advance learning and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, management and business studies. The Council is excited to have the opportunity to work with Professor Nancy IP Yuk-Yu, the University’s fifth President and the first woman ever to be appointed to head a publicly funded I am truly honored to be appointed Chairman of the Council of HKUST in March 2023. It has felt like a homecoming, given my close connections with HKUST which go back more than two decades, first as an adjunct faculty at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in 2000, and more recently as Professor-at-Large at Jockey Club Institute of Advanced Studies. university in Hong Kong.
