38 39 The Lee Shau Kee Library extended an invitation to time travel with the co-publication of Regnum Chinae, the first comprehensive study of Western printed maps of China up to 1735. While many of the historic maps are housed in the Library’s own collection, the book was published together with the renowned Dutch publishing house Brill. In celebration of the book launch, the Library organized a public talk in October 2022 to share with readers how European maps of China had changed over time. Amplifying Diversity and Inclusivity Awareness Diversity is the engine of institutional growth and integral to our core values. In 2022, HKUST established the Diversity and Equal Opportunities Committee, reaffirming our commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus. This committee will lead efforts to widen understanding, mitigate unconscious bias, and reduce all forms of discrimination and harassment via enhancing its existing mechanisms, training and education, engagement with University members, as well as external partnerships.
