40 41 Strengthening Bonds, Renewing Friendships HKUST cherishes its enduring bonds with alumni and their interconnected community. Throughout the year, we focused on rekindling these connections in the post- pandemic world through a series of events. The Alumni Fun Day in September 2022, for instance, reconnected various cohorts, their families, and friends in a weekend of high-spirited on-campus activities. Our annual Alumni Entrepreneur Reception in March 2023 proved a showcase of alumni innovation, spanning biotech, AI, fintech, and food and beverage sectors. Co-organized with the Hong Kong Science Park and HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, and with support from the HKUST Business School, this event strengthened the entrepreneurial spirit within our alumni community. Solidifying these deep-rooted ties, we welcomed the Convocation Standing Committee 2023-25 in April 2023, with entrepreneur and multi- degree alumnus Mr. Terry TSANG Kin-Chung elected as the new Convocation Chairman.
